When would an international trust be preferable to the international LLC for international protection?

The IAPT and international LLC each have their place in our planning. Each has its advantages and applications. For estate planning, we naturally would use the trust as the entity of choice. But to shield smaller sums of money we may opt for the international LLC. Most often, we use both the IAPT and the international LLC to layer our protection. The IAPT owns the international LLC and invests and transacts business through the LLC. This is a fairly common arrangement.
